Kellen Crichton

Kellen Crichton has distinguished herself as a dynamic student leader whose commitment to service, resilience, and entrepreneurship has created meaningful impact both locally and internationally. A senior at American Heritage School Broward, Kellen has combined academic excellence with a passion for community engagement, earning recognition as a National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, and a Silver Knight nominee in Athletics.

Motivated by a desire to empower young people through sports and opportunity, Kellen co-founded Goals for Growth, a nonprofit initiative focused on expanding access to recreational activities for children in foster homes across Jamaica. Through this initiative, she has helped organize community field days, coordinated fundraising campaigns, and delivered tangible improvements including soccer equipment, goal posts, a trampoline, and a swing set to children at SOS Children’s Villages in Stony Hill.

Kellen’s commitment to service also extends to her school and local community. As co-president of the Caribbean Student Association, she helped lead a hurricane relief drive that collected more than 1,500 hygiene items for children impacted by severe storms in Jamaica. She has also served in leadership roles within her school’s CARE Club, helping organize drives that assembled hundreds of care packages for pediatric patients at Broward Health Medical Center, and has partnered with Breakthrough Miami, offering tutoring services to students.

Beyond her philanthropic work, Kellen demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Through her soap-making business, Crichton & Co., she has sold more than 10,000 handmade soaps and donated over $10,000 to charitable causes.

A scholar-athlete and varsity volleyball captain, Kellen’s journey has also been defined by perseverance. Despite significant injuries, including tearing both of her ACLs, she has continued to lead, mentor younger athletes, and inspire teammates with her resilience and determination.
